How it works
Three steps, once
You connect your Spotify account, pick how the playlist should be named, and that is it. From then on it happens without you.
Connect Spotify
One click through Spotify's own consent screen. We ask for exactly the permissions we use: read your top tracks, create a playlist, upload its cover.
Pick your style
Choose the title format, the cover, how many tracks, and whether the playlist is public or private. Everything can be changed later.
Forget about it
On the first day of every month a new playlist appears in your Spotify with the songs you played the most, cover art included.
The honest part
Spotify has no “August”. It only has “the last four weeks”.
The API offers a rolling window that ends today — never a date range. That is why the job runs on the first of the month: only then does the window line up with the month it is named after.
| Run date | Window covered | Match for August |
|---|---|---|
| 1 September | 4 Aug – 1 Sep | 98%exact |
| 12 September | 15 Aug – 12 Sep | 59%partial |
| 20 September | 23 Aug – 20 Sep | 30%poor |
When you generate a playlist by hand, the dashboard shows the real dates behind the data and grades the match — exact, partial or poor — instead of pretending.
